For under $100, I am pleasantly surprised at how solid and well built an integrated leather strap with deployant clasp is. Having purchased many 3rd party straps over the years, it’s not uncommon to see traditional leather straps with simple pin buckles sell for significantly more. The leather was a bit stiff when new, but broke in very quickly and conformed nicely to my wrist. I’m very happy with this purchase.
I’m not too crazy about the color of the strap, I wish they had more of a leather brown option. Also this is the first time I had a watches metal bracelet have a better and more comfortable fit than the leather strap. It is also very difficult to change out the straps on the watch. Overall the strap is okay, just wish it was a little nicer, more comfortable and easier to change out for the price tag.
Citizen Response
Got a tsuyosa grey with black leather strap for my husband. I like that citizen offers interchangeable leather straps, but was very disappointed with the color of their brown leather. We will likely return it. It is a muddy color, almost with a tinge of green, not a rich deep brown that would match typical men’s brown leather belts and shoes. Considering the watch strap is only compatible with specific tsuyosa straps Citizen should release more color options for the leather straps, especially a true common brown leather.
