Close, but no cigar

If you’re not used to wearing a larger watch, the unboxing of your new Citizen Proximity Pryzm can be a little overwhelming. However it’s not the 48mm diameter that’s unusual, it’s the 12mm thickness that’s first noticeable. But then you put it on your wrist and notice that it’s indeed a Citizen, so you know you have a reliable and accurate brand, and one which looks good and wearable for all occasions from boardroom meetings, to a day at the races and a night at the opera. The night luminosity of the hands and hour markings are good, though I have also seen brighter luminosity from other (and cheaper) brands. And if you want a watch that’s a cross between smart and stylish, this is ideal. The features are also good, from a perpetual calendar, second time zone, a 60 minute timer (chronograph) and Smart Phone Bluetooth connectivity for notifications of calls, texts, etc – that’s presuming your watch can stay connected, and this is where the problem lies. After 2 weeks of wearing the watch, I have noticed that in direct sunlight, the watch stays connected and it’s features works well. However head indoors, or to a location with shadows or low light, and it’s disconnected. Luckily manual reconnection is very easy, but doesn’t last long – if at all in low light. So, in my particular job where accurate time is a must, I have learnt to sync my watch via Bluetooth every morning, and then knowing that Bluetooth connectivity will be lost within the hour, just rely on the vibrations of my phone to notify me of calls and text. Besides, I have to use my phone to answer them anyway.

Does what it says, but has limitations

This was a Christmas present. Looks good, works well. What none of the advertising tells you is that it will only hold bluetooth for 6 hours, unless you have it in intense light at all times, then you can set it higher with the app (to 12 hours). In other words, it will drop connection a minimum of twice a day. However, reconnecting is a long press, a pause, and a long press, so is not ridiculous. Overall, it does what I want, which is tell me when I get a message, and look good doing it, while also telling the time. One thing I would like to have seen added is better luminescence on the hands, and luminescence on the connection dial.

Fair enough

I bought the watch because I travel very often and the fact that it pairs with Bluetooth is very useful. I was thinking to buy a satellite wave, but take into account that a satellite watch can’t get signal inside an airport, so if you travel a lot it is not so helpful, you would have to walk out of the airport to get signal and then have correct time zone and check the time for your next flight. About the prizm, I think it has to improve a lot in terms of connectivity with iPhone, mine is always disconnecting without any reason, I have been playing with it for a while but it does not stay connected. This might not affect sync for your new time zone, but it is solo used to help you when you loose / forget your watch and if it disconnects obviously this function does not work. Overall a good watch but it does not perform 100%. I would tell you to think about buying one.

New Citizens Bluettoth Watch

I bought this watch a few days ago. It is a remarkable product but there are shortcomings - size, inability to remain paired with iPhone, and battery drain. It is also a rather large watch that could become cumbersome when wearing. Besides these shortcomings it is in the same class as other Citizen eco watches

Bluetooth connection ( New Device)

I got this watch for Christmas from my wife. I went over the instruction manual to the best of my knowledge. Seemed to be working fine. I connected the Bluetooth to my first phone, which was the Samsung S7 Edge. I had no problem with connecting to its Bluetooth. As weeks went by the Bluetooth would go in and out and lose signal. I've emailed the company, asking for any kind of suggestions on what to do. They sent me the instruction guide video. I've watched the 22 minute video 4 times, having to pause and repeat. Not once does it go over how to connect the actual watch to a Bluetooth device. With me having an upgrade with my mobile provider, I factory reset my old phone, thinking it would be as simple as going to my new phone, to Bluetooth and reconnecting it to my new phone. I have yet to figure out how to do it. I've now had the phone for a little over 3 weeks and still no help on getting it fixed. I'm reaching out on what I need to do. At this point and time, I really just want to send the watch back. God bless, love Walt.
