I love the way this watch looks. It’s why I bought it, but I’ve had it 4 or 5 days and it still hasn’t synced to the correct time.
I just had a bad experience about fixed the time , and I get back twice to the retailer store to help me , but still I am not satisfied or happy about it , and I will switch it to different Blue Angel .. The leather is very weak and uncomfortable in men hand , the hand minute is not match the hand second and I hate that .. the calendar is funny when tern the next day to the right date ..nothing work for me !.. I got back to my old Blue angel Skyhawk Eco drive AT till the retailer receive new inventory as manager promised soon .. nice and beautiful design and features but I am sorry to tell with less quality .. I do not recommend it .. store manager told me I do not receive the signal in my area and I should fix the time manually ! Do you believe that when I live 20 miles from Down Town Miami ..!
The watch is more then OK, stylish, beautiful looks, no power problems. Strip for me, too weak, after 2-3 months needs to be replaced, and the original is too expensive.
Treated myself to this watch to supplement my collection of automatics like the Rolex GMT-Master II and a Breitling Avenger. I have a Citizen Blue Angel chronograph from the before Eco Drive days but seldom wear it because it it is a smaller watch and my 70-year-old eyes are not as good. Also have an Eco-Drive WR200 NaviHawk model purchased more than 15 years ago. It survived a motorcycle crash in 2012 and needed only a new crystal and cleaning. The Blue Angel World Chronograph A-T is the creme of the Citizen crop that I have and may also become the top watch for use instead of the automatics. Like the NaviHawk, the radio control and quart technology provides unparalleled accuracy that Rolex and Breitling cannot match. The size is perfect, the watch is light (especially when compared to the automatics) and it has the functions I need in an easy way to access them. Bought the bracelet model but may also get the blue and yellow band shortly. The dial is less cluttered than the NaviHawk, the 24-hour dial and easy multiple time zone functions serve the needs of someone who travels through several time zones more frequently than I probably should. Unlike the NaviHawk, this model does not have the legs that catch on porous underlining of my motorcycle jackets. My only regret is that I did not buy the model earlier. My bad.
I bought this in the Caribbean while on a cruise. Love it.
Citizen Response
Really like the look of the watch. Overall it functions well. Auto set time feature does not work often. Outer rim of watch scratches somewhat easily. Biggest gripe is that the band, which was a big selling point for me, has really not held up, which for a $600 watch is pretty lame.
I just received my watch today in the mail. I have not even had it for an hour and I'm loving it. I love all of the gadgets yet it still has the feel of a mechanical watch.
So I bought the AT8020-03L recently. Fantastic watch. Nice style. Plus sapphire crystal. I probably would have bought the Tissot if the glass wasn’t sapphire. I was in Times Square and already went to Swatch and Tissot and I was planning to visit Seiko in Madison Ave. But they were already closed so I decided to look at Citizen too. Nice staff, pleasant and efficient. The Citizen Eco-Drive World Chronograph Radio-Controlled Blue Angels immediately caught my attention because of the style. It didn’t hurt that they have an ongoing discount promotion. But the watch was stunning regardless. I always liked automatics. It would take me a lot of effort to buy a quartz because I don’t like the idea of getting the batteries changed, but this is different. Light-powered, any light. Quartz precision, sapphire crystal, world clock - choose your time zone, daylight saving function, perpetual day and date - even leap years!, radio signal atomic clock synchronization, chronometer, slide rule and analog computer conversion like Breitling, 24 hr clock indicator, water proof to 20bars pressure, nice style... what’s not to like? 42mm bezel like a Speedmaster. I’m sure I missed something. I'm very happy with it. My friend was shocked I bought a quartz but after showing him the features, he ended up buying the same model! Useful when traveling to other countries; just set the new time zone and the watch readjusts! Only the GPS versions have a leg up but I still gravitated to the AT8020 style. It’s a fun watch. I actually enjoy using the radial logarithmic and conversion calculator. Anyway I’m geeking out. Way better than Breitling, function-wise. It’s a wear and forget watch. It won’t let you down. Better than an automatic: 6 month life on one full charge. Ok let me stop. Check the pics online yourselves. Im not a photographer:)
