this watch is amazing and also a great looking watch
Purchased this watch a couple of years ago. Great features with Eco-Drive and auto updates with the atomic clock.
Really struggled with the decision on buying this watch, only because the Citizen Eco-Drive watch I've had for over 20 years still works perfectly and I didn't have any need for another watch. However, the radio control function really appealed to me. Almost bought the Satellite Wave because it receives a signal faster, but I have no problem getting a signal in a couple of minutes with this A-T watch. Besides, it automatically updates every day so manual updating is mostly unnecessary. It's an absolutely beautiful watch and I really like the large face. I may never get over the technology in this thing. It blows my mind with the functions it has while keeping perfect time. Love the fact that I'll never have to mess with changing it for daylight savings time as it does this automatically. Also will never have to mess with changing the date for months with less than 31 days. I thought setup would be difficult, but there really wasn't that much to it. The watch arrived almost fully charged and all I had to do was change it from Eastern to Central time. It's amazing watching the hands move automatically and considering the technology and precision built into this watch. If I had a complaint, it would be that I'd like to see more marks on the 24 hour dial. It's really a useless feature the way it is. Fortunately, I don't need to use 24 hour time that often and when I do, it's not that difficult to figure it out. In summary, this is the most impressive watch I could ever own. It looks beautiful and works perfectly and if it's built as well as my other Citizen, it should last not only my lifetime, but my son's lifetime as well when I pass it down to him.
I am becoming a bit of a Citizen addict, and I may need to check into a 12 step program for it. This is my 5th Citizen. I have 3 Axioms, 1 Paradex with the and now this one. I love the radio synchronization and the fact that the watch actually uses the sweep second hand for both timekeeping and chronograph mode. Once you add the perpetual calendar and Eco Drive system you have the closest thing to a set and forget watch that you can have in an analog form factor. I love the fact that you have a watch that feels right at home in a more formal setting but still has the ruggedness of 100m water resistance and a sapphire crystal. There's only one problem with the watch. legibility. The dial is not black it's more gunmetal, and it is brushed in such a way that it will reflect light back. These reflections interfere with the silver tone hands and make the watch harder to read than it should be. This happens especially with the second hand which all but disappears at times. I wish the dial was flat black like the Axiom line, it would help with the readability a lot. That being said, you can twist the watch at an angle to make the silver stand out more, but it would be better if I didn't have to. One final thing, I love the fact that it has a charge indicator so I can actually see what solar charge I have remaining.. That is a nice feature. I love this watch. It's durability and water resistant actually makes my Paradex redundant. This is a great all around watch and fills all the checkboxes.
