Beautiful satch, BUT...

This is my latest Citizen watch purchase, becoming number 6 in my collection, which is to say that I am committed to this brand. This is a beautiful watch, records time accurately and has many interesting features. However, as other reviewers have noted, it is virtually impossible to read in certain lighting conditions. So to be on the safe side, wear this watch as an attractive piece of jewelry, but strap a $20 Timex to your other reach to tell the time.

Perfect Time/Day/Date/Atomic features;Low Contrast

I really love this watch, it has every feature I've ever wanted in a writewatch. It's even black / copper which is unusual and awesome. However, the hand and the hour markers do no glow. This makes it impossible to read at night and unless you tilt the watch exactly so, almost unreadable during the day. This watch needs to have glow hands, but does not. A significant usabilty problem.

Flawless but

Great timepiece, perfect at keeping time for the most part. On a number of instances my watch jumps ahead to a different time/day/date which requires a reset. Not sure why this happens even after I've reset using the official citizen H804 set/reset video. Other than that it is hands down my best looking and favorite EcoDrive.

Beautiful watch

it is a very nice watch with a lot of function. Perfect if you like to travel. I own 10 or so eco drives and it is the most comfortable .... it would have got the 5th star but the hands can be hard to see in a dim lighting.

Incredible accuracy and great styling

I love the two-tone look. It adds plenty of style while maintaining durability. (Most PVD coated watches can wear pretty easily.) I only have two minor issues: The flat crystal makes it a little difficult to see the hands in certain lighting conditions. One needs to "waggle" the watch to see the hands clearly. The markings on the chrono minute marker and other sub dials could be sharper. That, along with the length of the sub dial hands makes it very hard to accurately gauge the minutes. At this price point, it is an excellent watch.

Solid as a rock

This watch feels great and I'm confident will last years on years. Only downside perhaps is the style. I enjoy the look, but after four months of wear it's essentially gone unnoticed. A "hey, nice watch" every now and then would be nice!!

Great watch, but I can’t read it

I got this watch as a Christmas gift about 2 years ago, and it is a BEAUTIFUL piece of jewelry. The problem I have is that in a lot of lighting situations I can’t see the hands, therefore I can’t tell the time. Also, because the hands don’t glow in the dark, it is useless at night. I would love to wear this watch more often, but I can’t.

One of my favourite watches BUT

This is my second Citizen and will not be my last as I am pleased with the brands performance and looks. BUT, as others have said, this is the worst watch in my collection to read the time from and to read the date is nigh on impossible. Sorry Citizen but you still have me as a customer.

Goes haywire if it doesn't get atomic clock signal

I bought this because I wanted something more stylish than my Casio Solar Atomic Watch, which hasn't missed a beat in over 10 years. I also have a Stiletto, which I am very happy with. The Citizen started going haywire if it didn't get a signal. I sent it back to Citizen for repair, only to be told it was fine and that I wasn't charging it properly. I worked for a couple weeks. Then, it started going haywire again. The time it sets is some random time that ins't accurate anywhere in the world. In the mean time, my trust old Casio keeps setting the proper time every day. Also, like many other reviews, I love the rose gold, but it it very difficult to read. The glare is terrible.

GREAT STYLE, TERRIBLE FEATURES

I bought this watch almost 2 years ago, it was working perfectly but suddenly now I cannot set the time by own, since the time set by the watch itself is wrong, plus the battery does not last as it used to be at the beggining, it is stopping every time

US_Citizen Response I am sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing. I would suggest to try charging the watch. You will need to sit it in a window sill that gets good direct sunlight/daylight for a few days. You may see the watch start to work after a few hours, however, continue to let the watch sit to charge. After a few days of sunlight/daylight, you can then complete a reset if and set the time and date. If you have tried this and the watch is still not working, then I can only suggest to send the watch to our facility for evaluation and repair.
