Citizen Sport Watch

I was searching for a comparable replacement for a watch I had for about twenty years. The Citizen Sport Watch had everything I was looking for,12/24 time, protected crown, stainless steel case and 100 meter water resistance. My only complaint is the clasp isn't tight when closed and sometimes snags on furniture or clothing. Other than the clasp issue the watch is great , looks good and has good features. The clasp issue the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Keeps good time. Is somewhat heavy.

I purchased this watch 12/21/2016...a Christmas present to myself after my wife said "go for it"....she knew my old watch had exceeded its life expectancy. I went looking for a watch with a stainless steel body that included the day/date feature. My previous watch kept good time, served me well for about 8 years, but the case eventually corroded because it was not a stainless body (although it looked like stainless). It was not an expensive watch (Timex); I may have paid $50 or so for it eight years ago. I found this Citizen Sport watch at a respected local jeweler after looking around at watches that were less expensive. My personal preference was for a watch face with white background & black numbers (this particular watch has a black face & white numbers), but I didn't see a watch like that available. Interesting that this watch is powered by light (no battery). I didn't purchase the watch particularly for that feature, but more for readability of the numbers, its simplicity, the day/date feature, and the stainless steel body. The weight of the watch is heavier than my old Timex watch, yet also appears to be more ruggedly constructed...and of course my old Timex did not generate its own power. Note: This watch does not have a lighted face. The numbers & hands are fluorescent.
