Great looking watch, the only complaint is that the band is uncomfortable for my wrist and I needed to get a different one.

This is my second Citizen Eco-Drive watch. I was looking for another one that could serve as an outdoor/everyday watch and I have come to discover field watches. The face is easy to read, even when viewed at an angle, with a nice contrast of white arabic numerals on the black face. The day/date window is likewise easy to read. The watch feels substantial without feeling too heavy. The Eco-Drive solar power is a great feature. The lume on the hands and numerals is also quality, as it lasts though the night to the morning hours. An area for improvement would be the band, as it is stiff and the spacing of the holes on the band leave it just a little too loose or a little too tight. I may switch out to a different band in the future. Overall I am happy with this purchase and I trust that this watch should last for years as my other Citizen has lasted many years.
The Garrison has been a great field watch for me. I have worn it for about a year and a half. My biggest gripe about it is that the crystal sits up about .5mm above the bezel. This causes the mineral glass crystal to be easily broken. I have even replaced it with a sapphire crystal and it has still broken. The watch itself is great but this design flaw and the sub-optimal band leaves some things to be desired.
This is my second Citizen watch. I love that they are solar powered. My last watch lasted over 10 years with hard use as a horticulturist. This watch is very nice but bigger than I was expecting. I don’t love the grommets for holes either. But I don’t like any of the women’s watches Citizen carries. This one is very much my style just big
I had to purchase this watch again due to losing my original while wake surfing. I love the watch! The band on my original wore out and broke down after 3-4 years, $80 bucks to replace with Citizen just a couple months ago, so needless to say I was bummed to lose it. BUT, I did love the watch enough to buy it again!
This watch has been to hell and back with me. I’ve had it for 5 years and has needed no upkeep or maintenance. It’s just as good as a Hamilton Field Watch at a fraction of the price. This is the perfect watch for anyone who wants one for just day-to-day wear.
Great looking watch, seems sturdy. Did not fit me, too small- Im an XXXL with decent muscle mass.
The Citizen BM8180-03E is a solid everyday watch and a great value overall. On the plus side, the Eco-Drive is super convenient—no battery changes to worry about. The watch looks great in person, has a clean field watch style, and the price point is very reasonable. I also really like the day, date complication, which makes it more practical for daily use. Timekeeping has been very accurate as well. The 37mm size is a bit small by modern standards, but still very wearable and comfortable for everyday use. Build quality feels good for the price, lightweight but not cheap, and it’s a versatile watch that works well casually and with different straps. That said, there are a few downsides. The strap it comes with is pretty stiff and uncomfortable out of the box, though that’s an easy fix. A bigger issue for me is the crown, t’s not screw-down, which would have added a lot more confidence. Even though it’s rated at 100m water resistance, the lack of a screw-down crown doesn’t really inspire confidence for water use. Also, the lume is disappointing. It looks great and has a nice blue color initially, but it fades quickly and isn’t very visible in low light. Another minor downside is the mineral crystal, it would’ve been nice to have sapphire for better scratch resistance, especially since some competing watches in this price range offer it. Overall, it’s still a good deal for a nice-looking, reliable watch. Just a few small improvements, better strap, stronger lume, sapphire crystal, and a screw-down crown, would have made it excellent.
I bought this watch for my first experience with Echo-drive, and am happy with that functionality. Not crazy about the stiff strap - replacement coming.
