I was looking for something classy yet durable and reliable this watch definitely stands up to the test. I am a firefighter/ems provider and its stands up to the test.
My actual rating would be 4.5 -- Only because of the unsat wrist band. I regularly rotate four Citizen watches: Two with the legendary F150 (GPS) movement, one Promaster Skyhawk Titanium, and this Chandler. One you replace the "stylish" but stock clunky wrist band with a good quality NATO style band (i.e. Barton), you've got a smaller, thinner watch that keeps good time and doesn't get in the way. A NATO band gives you the security of two spring bars, so the likelihood of loosing it is pretty low. This is the watch I wear working in the yard, pounding nails, paddling my kayak, etc. There is definitely no bling to this watch, which is one of the main reasons I like it -- nothing that visually gets in the way of telling time.
This watch has always been difficult to set. Could never find the correct crown position. Today noticed the day of the week is wrong. Date of the month works. Day of the wee won't change. Out of warranty.
I bought this about a month ago. It is a good looking watch and is comfortable; Not too big and not too heavy. I am disappointed in that it loses time rather quickly. I'm seeing a 1-2sec time loss over a day or two. My $49 smart watch keeps better time. The time loss is not terrible, but for a product like a Citizen watch that supposedly represents quality, it's not what I hoped for or expected.
This a great watch. Citizen you must make this watch in a 40mm dia. With a brush black case and the exact dial with the same band in black. You would sale so many of them. The band is alittle to Stiff
Within a couple of months of purchasing this watch, the crown pulled completely out of the watch. This happened when I tried to reset the date. I sent the watch in to get it repaired...assuming warranty would cover this. I just received a bill for $76.00 for repair of the watch. Over $200.00 for a watch that only lasted two months.
I bought this watch around 15 years ago. It reminds me of my favorite IWC watch, but about $5,000 and 2mm less. So it fits my wrist and my budget. 3 years ago I moved, and lost it in one of the boxes, which went into storage. I have just pulled it out again and wondered if it would still work. I placed it on a sunny ledge, and magically, it is ticking again! 48 hours later and it is still keeping time perfectly! I am elated!!!!!
Easy to adjust time, day & date. Fits perfect for me.
This watch is perfect but I hate to admit i lost it. I took it off to change a headlight i and I haven't seen it since. I bought around 7 months ago. leaveing a happy ending I will get a new one for Christmas.
