Love this watch. Simple, easy to read, nothing wasted on extras. Size is perfect to stay out of the way as you work while wearing. Day calendar stays accurate without having to constantly adjust each depending on setting. Cons: my only real issue is the band. The size holes are gaped with robust rivets. This creates significant sizing changes which each adjustment and I’m in between sizes. Small concern is that the luminescence on the numbers can fade and become difficult to read at night. Would buy again! Would recommend for a great working watch.

My watch size 37mm to 40mm for my wrist size. This watch is much nicer than the photos. I but a black leather band on it. Looks sharp. Works great on the time.
Love the look of this watch, the only thing I changed was the strap. I put on an orange crown and caliber and it has been a great summer watch.

Lightweight and comfortable, this watch has stood up to all the vibrations from the equipment, has been through the mud, the rocks, the heat, humidity, and all that the weather can throw at it and it still performs and looks great. I can’t think of a more perfect watch! It is very easy to read and the lume is amazing at night; lasting until daylight. I first bought this watch in 2008 and have worn it every day for the last twelve years without it ever missing a beat and it still looks great and works perfectly. I've never been a fan of the band but this watch goes from formal to casual with a band change. If I had one thing to change, it would be to have the hands a bit longer. This is the third one I've bought, this time for a good friend. Just a great everyday watch and the perfect size so you don't have to wear a manhole cover on your wrist like most men's watches these days.

What a great watch, purchased to have an everyday watch. Its built beautifully, the case and strap are sturdy and comfortable. This makes 3 eco drive watches i own now, and it's definitely my new favorite.
This watch has seen many changes in my life. I purchased it on my first overseas deployment with the military... 20 years and a family later, I still love this watch. The original band is long gone (I literally wore it out), but the watch never fails to keep time and the date. If you're wanting something simple and timeless, you've found it.... and yes, it still glows! I do miss the drab green band.
This is an excellent all-around wristwatch: solar powered, accurate, and good-looking it can serve as a "field" watch, or with an upgraded strap it definitely dresses up well. It's better looking in person than in a photo, with good proportions. The mix of brushed and polished surfaces works well, the red sweep-second hand stands out, the lume is useful, and the water resistance fills out the features list. All in all, this is a classic: it could be your only watch.

I have worn this watch For several years now. I was looking for a good everyday field watch style, I was tired of always changing batteries, and this was perfect. The strap was a little too small for my wrists so put it on a nato strap which looks great.
I bought this because it has a classic look. I had been searching for an affordable time keeper, that could become a collectors item. It can compete with a Rolex and two Rolex wears reccomend it to me. I took a look, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I am taking to get it serviced water tested, crystal polished and a band change.
I've been wearing this for at least 5 years now. It's comfy, slim but thick enough to feel good, easy to read, perfect blend of stand-out and blend-in. I've received so many compliments on this watch, "I don't even wear watches and I like that". It just keeps getting better with age, even after the dives I've taken it on. Timeless piece and never needs batteries!

My wife surprised me with this watch for Christmas, and to be honest, I was really hoping she would get me an apple watch. After wearing this beauty for the past month, I haven't even thought about wanting an apple watch. Weird, I know, but it's the truth. This has style and simplicity that is unmatched. I did end up swapping out the band for a silicone band so I could wear it in the water and not have a soggy band. The stock band is nice, and will probably switch it back and forth depending on the occasion.

The face is easy to read, even when viewed at an angle, with a nice contrast of white arabic numerals on the black face. The day/date window is likewise easy to read. The watch feels substantial without feeling too heavy. The Eco-Drive solar power is a great feature. The lume on the hands and numerals is also quality, as it lasts though the night to the morning hours. An area for improvement would be the band, as it is stiff and the spacing of the holes on the band leave it just a little too loose or a little too tight. I may switch out to a different band in the future. Overall I am happy with this purchase and I trust that this watch should last for years as my other Citizen has lasted many years.

I can close it to the third hole from the actual time piece, about 6.5 inches. I would recommend searching online for an alternate band style, at 18mm, which is easy enough, I would think.

I bought this watch as an alternate to wear. I also have a Seiko Diver and this watch is stylish to wear from a business standpoint. I swapped out the existing band for a silicone one as it does get wet from time to time. It is very accurate and I like the Eco-Drive power feature. Recommended.
I bought this for myself almost 7 years ago. I wanted a casual, reasonably handsome, durable, and not-terribly expensive watch for daily wear, and decided to look for a Citizen Eco-Drive model, having read good things about their durability and functionality. It was important to me to find a highly-accurate, quartz watch that would essentially never need a battery replacement. (Previous battery-powered watches seemed to need battery replacement at the most inconvenient times and places.) Reliable water resistance, for swimming, showering, and so on was important, too. The Eco-Drives were advertised to cover all those bases, and I have not been in any way disappointed. Also, I very specifically wanted a simple and traditional, analog-style watch––and something that was not gigantic and undignified. The 37mm "Chandler" model caught my eye. From prior experience, I was aware before placing the order that its canvas type strap was unlikely to fit my 8-1/2 inch wrist. So when deciding on what I could spend on a watch, I figured-in the cost of a new strap. The Chandler's strap was indeed much too small for me. I was not crazy about its metal grommets, in any case. To me, the textured fabric and grommets looked too casual for the office or a nice restaurant. Nevertheless, I give the design––of the watch itself––high marks. So I put it on an XL-length black rubber band, and voila! The perfect watch. I've been wearing it several times a week for nearly 7 years. I think it looks great. My wife approves. It's perfectly appropriate for most any day I don't need to wear a suit. It works really well for my typical Mon-Fri 'business casual' attire. But I also wear it on the beach, on a mower, splitting firewood, skiing, and right into the shower afterward. On a waterproof strap, the watch looks good, is a non-silly size, keeps great time, and seems impervious to mistreatment. I could not be happier. Bought an identical one for my 20-year-old son two years ago when I noticed him wearing his rubberized digital watch with a sports coat and slacks. If your lifestyle is anything like mine, you'll be happy with one of these.
Seafood freezers, meat coolers and freezers, harsh detergents with chlorine or ammonia, HOT HOT HOT water....the only thing that’s worn out is the band. I have a collection of watches but this one with it’s Aviator style face and easy to read without my glasses is a favorite. Great work Citizen! A KEEPER!

I purchased a Citizen Garrison BM8180-03E in 2008. Have worn it every day since purchase. Professionally, I have access to precision time standards. This Citizen keeps accurate time better than any other analog watch I've owned.
It is a great watch I would recommend it to anyone!

I bought this watch in 2010. It has worked flawlessly for the last eleven years while never needing a battery replaced. I have used it roughly and in some pretty extreme environments and it has never missed a tick.
