I've had the watch several years, maybe 10??? I have at least 10 watches (including this one that I bought for $100, that's how long I've had it). This one sat in a drawer for several months. Forgot it was there. When I found it, it was dead. I sat it in my window and forgot about it. Found it last week. Been wearing it ever since. Set it to the Atomic clock. Hasn't missed a second.
This was my first over $100 watch. I do a lot of outdoorsy activities. And I wanted a watch that was durable, and I wouldn't have to ever worry about it running out of battery or if I didn't wear it for 3 days. It's light, comfortable. I've had it 6 months and it looks brand new. I keep looking at other watches. Especially for nicer looking events, but I really just like this one. There's nothing I don't like about it.
I bought this watch in 2018, I wore it for a few months and then my father saw it and commented on it. I left it with him(in Texas) when I was going back home to Maryland. Fast fwd to 2021 and my father died, my mom gave the watch back to me and the band was missing. I want to replace the band but am having a hard time finding where to buy original style band.
Citizen Response
What a great simple watch, the dial size is not too big, just right
Bought this watch from a jewelry shop near me at the time back in 2017. This watch has been hit, scratched, banged about on Police Patrol! Yes, the strap got wet and rotted away after 1 year but hey, easily replaced by a "slip through nylon NATO strap"-no big deal. Retired with a newly purchased "thin blue line watch" making my "banged up vet" a back up. After all that abuse? This watch still keeps accurate time=Battle scrapes scratches and all! Wish I'd citizen sooner! A truly spartan watch! Sure wish Citizen would improve her "glow in the dark" features on all her watches but-that's what flashlights are for.
I purchased this watch to replace one of the same model purchased back in 2005. On two occasions that one had lost time for reasons I couldn't identify. It had otherwise been a superb watch. Kept much better time than a submariner Rolex (which I sold because the Citizen performed better). It was also tough. On one occasion I shorted out a buss bar, carrying 500+ amps from boat batteries. Left burn marks on the case, the band, and my wrist, but the watch never missed a beat. Remarkable for a complex electric watch.
This is my second Eco Drive (also have a Corso which I wear for dress up-simple and elegant), this is for work. The Eco Drive means it charges from any light source, has a stainless steel body and I absolutely love the glow in the dark hands and numbers. I would definitely buy this again.
Great watch that is comfortable, stylish and accurate! What more could you want?
I bought this when it first came out. I think it was 2007. This was recommended to me by the watch store to replace my dead watch. For the most part, I've had very little trouble, if any with it. The only maintenance that has been done is to send it back for a new internal battery and new strap. (side note, don't buy straps from citizen! They are $$$$.) I'm not replacing the strap for a 2nd time going to my 3rd one. I'm going 3rd party now Otherwise than that I love the watch. It keeps great time and can be worn in the shower without any issues.
