Crown keeps popping out which causes the watch to not keep time. I think my long sleeve dress shirts push the crown out. I did not purchase directly from Citizen and Independent Jeweler will not accept a return after 7 days. Watch returned to Citizen for repair.
I ordered directly from Citizen so I could have the watch sized, and this cost more than buying the watch elsewhere. What I received was a previously worn watch that was improperly sized. 1. There was no protective wrap on the watch. I've purchased new Citizen watches from dealers, and they always have protective plastic wrapping the band and watch. This watch was very obviously previously owned. 2. There are very obvious scratches on the edge and backside of two links. The person who owned the watch previously obviously did a ham-fisted job of adding links. Or is this damage from someone at Citizen doing the sizing that I ordered? Equally worrisome no matter what. 3. The watch was not sized correctly. I carefully measured my wrist using the sizing guide printed from the website. However, the watch came almost two links too large. I removed a link and used clicked it in one click on the fit adjuster. It's ok now. I will keep the watch because the scratches will not necessarily be visible, but it is a serious concern to order from here again. Either I'm getting pre-owned stock or the folks doing the sizing are not taking even the minimum amount of care in the work.
No crown locking. Crown pops out and changes time a couple of times daily. I am so disappointed as I love everything else. ;'(
The watch is light and right. It tells time flawlessly. However, the calendar fonts are almost unreadable at a quick glance due to the black background and fonts used. You have to focus to read.
Watch meets what I was looking for, very light and easy to read (except the date is difficult for older eyes -1 star and is too recessed making it even harder to read). The next star off was due to the protruding crown. When wearing this on the left side and not being extremely tight it will come down hit your wrist bones which is annoying so much I switched it to my right side. It would be nice to have an option for the crown to face towards elbow for left hand wearing watch people (maybe two versions). I can move it to my right wrist to prevent the crown from causing this issue, but it's seems unnatural to me to wear it on the right side.
Pro: Good accuracy watch, good Sapphire Crystal, light weighted, titanium Con: there is no ledges to defend crown - time jumping when you active, difficult to see day and time - low contrast Will never buy such, if I know con before hands
This watch ticks all the boxes for me. It is waterproof, has day and date and a metal band. The sapphire crystal is something I got used to on my other high end watch. I work rotating shifts so I never know what day of the week it is. I like the weight of the titanium case and band. I hardly feel it on my wrist. It has been keeping time well. The only "complaint" is that the day of the week changes slowly from midnight till 4 am. Making Sunday red makes it hard to see in lower light levels. The luminous dial is visible all night long which I appreciate. I've always wanted an Eco-drive watch and I'm glad I have this one!
This was a gift from my wife. It's an extremely accurate and nice looking watch. Two things make it less than perfect. 1-The lum is not very bright and doesn't last long enough. In my mind there's simply no reason for this and it is by far my biggest complaint. 2-The day / date display is too small. Otherwise the size is just right for me and it's very light weight. Adding a glass crystal protector makes it very durable too. I've not had any issues with the crown as others have noted. So close to perfect...
I picked the Garrison titanium because of its light weight, large easy to read dial, eco drive, and quality glass. Now that I’ve lived with it on for a few weeks and subjected it to daily light construction abuse I’m satisfied with my purchase. My only disappointment is that the Lume isn’t bright enough throughout the night for me to read the watch on the side table in the wee hours. If this watch had tritium tubes it would be absolutely epic.
Bought this as a replacement for my 20 year old Garrison (the smaller one with the white day/date). Wanted the sapphire crystal because the mineral crystal on my old one has become heavily scratched over the years and I’m hoping the sapphire will hold up a bit better - which was basically the only reason I didn’t get an identical replacement for my old Garrison. Overall the watch is very nice, but I’m not a fan of the larger size, I wish the lume was more white and less yellow, and my biggest complaint is that the day/date indicator is awful. The use of very thin lettering on a black background makes it nearly impossible to read at a glance and/or distance. My old one used black letters on a white background and that was perfect - legible at a glance and in nearly all conditions. Not sure why Citizen didn’t use that on this model because it is far far superior to the day/date display on this watch. Another minor criticism is the limited amount of fine adjustment on the metal band clasp, more would be better, and I couldn’t get a comfortable fit so I just ended up replacing it with a silicone strap.
