This was a gift from my wife. It's an extremely accurate and nice looking watch. Two things make it less than perfect. 1-The lum is not very bright and doesn't last long enough. In my mind there's simply no reason for this and it is by far my biggest complaint. 2-The day / date display is too small. Otherwise the size is just right for me and it's very light weight. Adding a glass crystal protector makes it very durable too. I've not had any issues with the crown as others have noted. So close to perfect...
I picked the Garrison titanium because of its light weight, large easy to read dial, eco drive, and quality glass. Now that I’ve lived with it on for a few weeks and subjected it to daily light construction abuse I’m satisfied with my purchase. My only disappointment is that the Lume isn’t bright enough throughout the night for me to read the watch on the side table in the wee hours. If this watch had tritium tubes it would be absolutely epic.
Bought this as a replacement for my 20 year old Garrison (the smaller one with the white day/date). Wanted the sapphire crystal because the mineral crystal on my old one has become heavily scratched over the years and I’m hoping the sapphire will hold up a bit better - which was basically the only reason I didn’t get an identical replacement for my old Garrison. Overall the watch is very nice, but I’m not a fan of the larger size, I wish the lume was more white and less yellow, and my biggest complaint is that the day/date indicator is awful. The use of very thin lettering on a black background makes it nearly impossible to read at a glance and/or distance. My old one used black letters on a white background and that was perfect - legible at a glance and in nearly all conditions. Not sure why Citizen didn’t use that on this model because it is far far superior to the day/date display on this watch. Another minor criticism is the limited amount of fine adjustment on the metal band clasp, more would be better, and I couldn’t get a comfortable fit so I just ended up replacing it with a silicone strap.
If there were a 3½ star option, I would have chosen that. I love the light weight of the titanium and the way the watch feels. Mine keeps excellent time. The major issue and I would say flaw is the crown. It pops out way too easily. I've never had this issue with any other watch. The crown actually broke off and I had to have it replaced which was a good percentage of the price of the watch. You have to be extremely careful with it especially when putting on or taking off a jacket or long sleeve shirt as not to disrupt the crown. I try to only wear it in summer while wearing short sleeve. If not for this issue it would get 5 stars.
I like the watch, but I had to file the edges of the bracelet with a file. It was sharp and has cut into my wrist. It is pity, that this detail was not observed and solved by manufacturer.
Very nice watch. I bought this to wear while my other Citizen goes back for long-overdue repairs after 22 years of continuous wear. Love the light weight; my other Citizen is titanium also. Hard to beat the durability!! Am a little disappointed in the day/date; very hard to read. Ah well, I guess I still have my cell phone.
Like the watch but was dissapointed I assumed the Numeral were also luminescent but onlt the minute and hour hands are
I have been using this watch for one month now. My previous watch, which lasted 30+ years, was a Seiko which was thinner and lighter. The Seiko luminescence was mostly gone after 30+ years and the day part of the day/date function stopped working but, the watch was still accurate to 10 seconds a year. This new watch has barely more luminescence than the Seiko after 30 years. I fully charged the battery when I got this watch so I am waiting to see how long it lasts without specially charging it. I actually find I prefer the known 3-4 year battery life than having to get my watch environmentally charged (I wear it 24 hours). The accuracy is within limits (loses 8 seconds a month). The watch is also bulkier than the Seiko. Seems like a decent watch but honestly, I wish I'd gotten the Seiko. Smaller, lighter, more luminescence and better accuracy (after 30+ years' experience of daily use 24/7).
The watch is nice looking and comfortable but considerably heaver than other titanium citizen watch I have. I didn’t expect it to be as heavy as it is.
