This watch is almost perfect. The time keeping is one of the best. The design is elegant, except the only shortcoming: the date is useless since it is so small. It looks ugly too. Make the date size 100% larger, then this watch is perfect.
I only took one star off because I cannot comment on the longevity of the watch, having had it only a few weeks. But so far, I like it. I replaced the steel band with a textile strap. The numbers are easily legible at a glance, which for my old eyes is now a criteria for all my watches. It keeps perfect time.
Beautiful watch. It’s probably the heaviest on my wrist. I like wearing my watches a little loose, so the extra heft added to the movement and presence. It is very accurate, which is why I chose the quartz with the solar. This is my fifth solar Citizen. I’m a fan. In four to five days, I’m off one second. The date window is too small. Really hard to read which is a shame. I think the designers tried to fit it into the 3:00 indice but they should have made it bigger. The lume is ok. Lume point on the 12:00 bezel is a nice touch. Alignment good. Bezel clicks good. Only complaint is the date window.
I really did not need this watch since I have three other Citizen watches but I liked the design and color as depicted on the Citizen website. After receiving the watch, the actual blue color is much closer to a deep navy blue rather than the lighter blue shown on the website. Although disappointed in the actual color I decided to keep the watch due to the overall look and quality. If you are expecting this watch to arrive with a “brighter “ blue color you will be disappointed. This is the reason for the 4 star rating.
