Although the wrist band was clearly stated it was four inches short. Also it was bent and would not open.Who ever inspected before shipping missed this one by a mile.
Pin fell out of the band and I was lucky to have felt it poke me or I would have lost the entire watch
Got this watch for Christmas from my wife, opened it Christmas Day and immediately noticed that the bezel hour markers and watch face markers did not line up. The bezel rotation was very sloppy and loose, and no matter how many times I rotated to try and line up marks it did not work. Approximately 1/16” slop in bezel movement before clicking to next location on dial. The secondary locking clasp was also defective and would not stay locked as on side did not line up correctly with the pin meant to hold it. Beautiful watch besides the poor controls already pointed out. Now I get to wait for a refund, who knows how long that is going to take since it took several days to receive a reply email with return labels from citizen. Overall very unhappy with purchasing directly from citizen, and will no longer trust them to send a properly functioning product out.
I've been waiting for a watch like this to come out as I love diver watches, but many of them are rather heavy and can cause fatigue on my wrist after long periods of time. I was excited when the watch became available, so I ordered one through a local jeweler. When the watch arrived, I immediately noticed how rough the rotating bezel felt when I turned it. It felt as though parts were grinding inside the bezel. I rejected this watch as defective and had the jeweler order another. The second one arrived a week later and although it was slightly better, it still had the same grinding problem when the bezel is slowly turned. The bezel ratcheting mechanism works poorly and feels like it was either incorrectly assembled or poorly designed. I asked for my deposit back and walked away in disgust and disappointment. The grinding, poorly functioning bezel really bugged me. This is not the level of quality I would expect from Citizen. I already own seven other Citizen Eco Drive watches, including some diver watches and two of the non-divers are titanium. This Promaster titanium diver watch does not come close to meeting my expectations of quality, especially at this price point. I hope Citizen addresses this issue with this watch as it seems like a nice watch otherwise.
Citizen Response
The good - titanium and light. The bad - the date window. So small that I wonder why it is even a feature on this watch. Hopefully, Citizen will make a change in the future to put a bubble or make it larger.
This needs a sapphire. Ridiculous that it doesn’t have it.
Received this watch as a wedding gift from my wife. I have worn this watch maybe 15 times in the last two years. This past weekend the crown no longer worked for time adjustments. Very disappointed
I purchased this watch for myself as a first Father’s Day gift, I remember my dad having a Citizen watch and I wanted one as well. This is also my first nicer watch. My everyday wear watch is a GPS running watch so I knew going into this I would only be wearing the Promaster going out/special occasions etc. After buying this watch I kind of went down a rabbit hole of the watch world and I do regret my purchase of this watch. I thought the Eco-Drive would hold a little more battery but since I don’t wear it very often it must have died and has now developed a delay in the second hand. I have worn it outside on sunny days, left it under a lamp and still has the delay. Changing the time and date is a huge pain. It’s very hard to unlock and pull out. Overall it’s a great looking watch, love the style of a diver and it’s very light since it’s titanium. I need to take it to a Citizen store for them to diagnosis the problem. If I had to do it again I would have gone with a different watch.
