This watch is a great value in titanium. The only thing missing is a ratchet clasp which I am currently sourcing from a third party vendor. I’m wondering if newer versions will come standard.
It was an extremely easy online ordering process. As part of my order, I'd requested that the band be resized, which I thought was a nice service offering. The watch arrived in a timely manner, and the novelty packaging was an unexpected surprise. The watch was also set to the current time and date, which was a nice touch. Upon arrival, however, the band wasn’t resized and was too large, so I contacted online customer service. I was offered a choice to return the watch for resizing or have it done at a local dealer and receive a $15 credited refund. I chose the latter for convenience. After emailing the receipt to customer service, I was refunded the entire amount, which was just over $20. Gisela in the customer service department assisted me throughout the entire process and handled the issue promptly and with friendly professionalism. Her efforts to resolve the issue more than made up for the minor mistake. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I will be ordering from Citizen in the future. Thank you, Gisela!
The watch is great. The directions for setting were not intuitive, however. I had to go to a jeweler who explained to me that the watch crown had to be loosened to set the watch. This step was not explicitly stated in the online video. Otherwise, very happy.
I purchased this watch specifically to wear on duty as a firefighter/EMT. I’ve had it for a couple months and it’s performed well. Having worn stainless steel bracelet watches before, I can say that the Super Titanium is much more scratch resistant and has held up well. The lume is no joke the absolute best I’ve ever had on a watch. I’ve owned a Rolex 16610 Submariner, Omega Speedmaster, two SMP 300’s, and an Aqua Terra, and none of those compare to how well the lume shines both when fully charged and at its lowest level. I’d even go so far as to say it’s more legible in complete darkness than my Luminox with tritium tubes. A couple issues though. The bezel insert and chapter ring are really poorly aligned, and the secondary clasp on the bracelet is really loose. If it was possible to get an OEM Citizen Promaster rubber strap along with the titanium bracelet, this would be the perfect everyday “tool watch” for the price point.
I like this watch a lot there's only one issue and that is the bezzle feel a reaction very stiff and crunchy. Pros- great looking watch super comfortable and light weight nice bracelet if you like the metal style bracelet, keeps good time has a great lume. It's solar! Why would you buy anything else especially not an automatic. You don't drive a car with replaceable Ignition points and crank windows anymore do you ? LOL Cons- No sapphire crystal the bezel action is horrible. If citizen would make this watch 41 or 42 mm 11mm thick, 4 o'clock Crown position and a nice blue face with a sapphire crystal I will buy another one assuming the bezel works better.
I bought this watch because I already have the steel version of it, BN0190-82E, which is very nice but pretty heavy. A titanium version would be perfect, I thought. And it's great. However, I really don't like the skeletonised hands- the steel one has obelisk hands, and I wish they'd kept them for this model. The skeleton hands look overwhelmed by the index markers, especially in the dark. It annoys me so much I'm considering taking the movement out of the steel watch and putting it in the titanium one, then I really would have the perfect dive watch. I suppose I agree with the people who want a sapphire crystal, but I can't say it bothers me that much. And yes, the bezel movement is bizzarely scratchy (not on the steel one), but again I don't really care, although it's puzzling that the people who make the world's most accurate wristwatch can't get that particular thing right on this model. I have lots of watches and I seem to be wearing this one most of the time, so that says it all.
I have had this piece for about a year now and have come to appreciate it tremendously. It was my first titanium watch, so I was a bit unsure of what to expect. It is light, but not flimsy. The handset and dial are quite legible (date complication not so much). The Luke is excellent. The bracelet is a pin and collar system, which I’m not a huge fan of, but it adjusts easily enough if you know what you’re doing. My chief complaint, as it is with many of you apparently, is the lack of a sapphire crystal. Not a deal breaker obviously, but it would have been a nice touch.
Would give it a five star review if the vessel could rotate in both directions. But the watch is reasonably priced and the Titanium feels and looks great!
Nice watch. A few shortcomings. Needs better night time ilumination and Saphire crystal
