This is my first quality watch and must say I’m very pleased. The fit and finish are first rate. The look and feel are fantastic. If I had one issue, it is that the bezel is not centred at top dead centre. It’s off to the right about one degree. This will be my everyday watch for years to come.
So far I haven't had the watch long enough to formulate any complaints I purchased this because it is solar powered, sapphire crystal, and it has date. These are qualities I plan to enjoy a long time. What I don't enjoy and why not 5 stars is the bracelet has a cheap feel and it bothers me enough I'm hoping to replace it soon. Honestly, I won't be able to enjoy the watch until I can get a better quality bracelet put on. So to be more accurate, the watch is a 5 and the bracelet a 3 at best.
My new Blue Promaster Dive BN0260-54L looks great & keeps time nearly perfectly. Posititves: Good bezel action, sapphire crystal is a great feature, 200m water resistant, Eco Drive for very long battery life, and I am told that the maintenance service from Citizen is fairly reasonable. A few areas for improvement: Subjective feel on wrist is that it is a little small - a perfect size would be 42 or 42.5mm, and with a bigger date window. As it is, the date is hard to read and certain numbers get lost in the small space. I do like the micro adjustable feature on the bracelet for perfect fit, but think that the bracelet in general could be a little more substantial and refined. The lume on the dials is good - not great but good. If Citizen kept all the positives and made a few changes to the date window, small increase in size, made the bracelet a little better and bumped up the dial lume, it might be the perfect tool watch. I would pay a bit extra and feel like it was still worth it. Overall, good execution and a good everyday watch or backup watch. 4.5 stars.
Happy I chose Citizen. The sapphire crystal offers reassuring durability for daily wear with excellent clarity. The eco drive powers the watch much longer than a normal battery, and with nearly unmatched accuracy compared to automatic movements in this price range. I only set the time once weeks ago, and it’s still on point. The wristband exceeded my expectations, the complimentary sizing and tool-less adjustment gives the perfect fit.
Great looking diver with proven reliability. Criticisms; 120 click bezel would feel smoother and the bracelet could be a little heftier. Otherwise a great piece for the money.
The casing and bracelet was well made and well finished, but bracelet feels light, thin, and unsubstantial. The second hand hits less than half of the second indices dead-on. For this price I expect better in this area. Even a 60 USD Casio Duro (although it is not solar/light powered) is able to hit all second indices perfectly. The watch also wears too small on my 7.5 inch wrist, good for people who are looking for vintage size. Maybe good for the price point of ~300 USD, but not for me. I will continue searching for the perfect budget diver.
