This is a good-looking watch, and it has a comfortable bracelet. However, I do have some gripes, especially for the price point. First, the hand alignment is not perfect, which is frustrating when you're spending nearly $500. Second, the clasp is very long and bulky, and it is even longer if you want to use the toolless micro adjustments. Overall, I like it, but I think it should be a little more refined for the price.
What can I say? It’s the perfect watch. I was looking for a daily driver. I’ve always hated regular quartz. I like automatics but innaccuracy makes them annoying for a daily. I recently bought a gshock tough solar and discovered the world of solar. Gshocks are great but they’re not classy. So I did some research, and quickly learned the best of the best for solar watches is the citizen eco drive. I wanted one with a clocking bezel. Not because I need it for diving. But I love that sweet sound. But most of the ones I saw were close to 44mm. Too big for my small wrists. Then this baby showed up in May. I knew it was perfect the moment I saw it. But in principal, I can’t buy something until it goes on sale. So I tortured myself for 3 months, looking at this watch every day, until finally the price dropped. I picked it up immediately, and it hasn’t left my wrist since it got delivered. The size is perfect. The clocks are perfect. The lume is blinding. And the accuracy is spot on. 5 stars
Banger of a watch. Good size, dial looks nice. The minute hand needs to be a little longer, it doesn't reach the actual minute marks. The bezel insert also looks a little cheap - not sure what it is about it, maybe the font used or something. Good bracelet though. Would love to see this offered as a mechanical / automatic movement in addition to eco-drive.
Dear Citizen, This my FIRST Citizen watch. I was surprised to see how low the quality is: (a) the bezel arrow does not line up with the notches, and (b) the second hand does not line up with the second hashes. Please see the enclosed photos. I really wish Citizen would replace this watch with a higher quality item. Sincerely, Darin Okuyama
This is my first Citizen watch and I'm super happy with the look and feel of it. Very convenient to print out the size guide and have it fit straight out of the box, and the 41mm dial looks right on my 7-1/4" wrist. Timeless style and not monstrous like many other dive watches. The lumens kind of turn green in bright sunlight but give off a nice glow in the dark. I'm still on the fence about the bracelet - the tool-less micro-adjust is nice, but the long clasp makes it too rigid to spin on the narrow part of my wrist.
I have the BN0261-51e black dial. Saw it advertised in Spain & Italy a month or two ago. I finally saw it on the Citizen USA website 7 June and ordered it. Got it 11 June. It’s exactly what I wanted. Perfect size, looks great on my 7.25 in wrist. Bezel is smooth. The tool less micro adjusting clasp is fantastic (I adjust the fit a couple times a day)! Solar panels on my roof and in my watches.
I was looking for a diver style watch that fit well on my 6.8” wrist, was solar powered, and this is perfect. Thickness is 11.5mm with a bezel diameter of 40.4mm. It doesn’t say if it has an anti reflective coating on the sapphire, but compared to others in my collection it would seem to.
I did so much research during my hunt for the perfect watch. I wanted a reliable, durable, water-resistant, sapphire crystal glass, rotating bezel, solid bracelet, screw-down crown, and good looking watch. The bracelet has a a special extension part that is easily adjustable even after the watch is fitted. This watch made me a more loyal Citizen customer and advocate. I’m thankful this was available and I have the opportunity to own one. After getting this and seeing/feeling the craftsmanship I went ahead and purchased the Citizen Tsuyosa 60. Thank you.
On totality, this is a beautiful looking watch, especially for the price point. The dial shines beautifully in the sun, the 41mm fits perfectly on the wrist, and the bezel has a nice 60 point clicking action. However, the bezel also has some play so it doesn’t line up perfectly with the indices unless you scoot it onto them, and even then it doesn’t stay. If there’s one thing I can’t ignore or stand on a dive watch, it’s a misaligned bezel. The Eco-Drive is also one of the best technologies ever produced for watches which makes this a top tier option because of the reliability and accuracy.
