Bought this watch in the red and blue moon phases. 1 for me and 1 for my dad. Off the bat ran into problems with the watch not functioning properly. Atomic receiver was broken or damaged wouldn't set the time. Citizen was great at taking care of this first problem. Second issue is the pins used to connect the metal links. Had one fall out and my watch fell apart while out at a bar. Thankfully I caught it before it dropped face first. This I have not addressed as the time to get this fixed would be extremely long. I recommend everyone check their watch thoroughly. beautiful watch but craftsman ship is lacking it seems. My Citizen Nighthawk which is half the price is much better and has held up for years.
I had to return the item due to the size. It is smaller than I thought.
I had my eyes on this particular Tsuki-yomi for awhile and finally purchased as a fathers day gift to myself. It was to be my 12th citizen in my collection. I was excited until opening when I was suddenly underwelmed by how bland and muted it was in person. The online photos and color pop! but in person the deep burgandy red has almost a pinkish hue and the details of the moon face are almost grainy and 2 dimensional. Like printed from a cheap printer. Not at all as sharp as the photos. Next to and in comparison to my titanium divers it was no contest. As for the functionality it worked as it should as expected of Citizen.
The watch has a nice presence, very light but the lumens is as bright as claimed and the band was adjusted but the links that were removed were not in the box! Everywhere I bought a watch and they adjusted the band they put the links in the box. It was terrible that Citizen didn’t do that!
The Tsuki-yomi A-T BY1018-55X watch is a nice watch, which keeps excellent time. My location does not always receive a strong radio signal from Colorado for the atomic time setting. All the watch configurations work well. The only issues I have are I'd like to see the date window larger or a date crystal magnifier. maybe this can't be done with sapphire crystals. Second the luminescent material on the minute and hour hands and the fixed hour luminosity indicators are very weak. I read my watch in low light often and there is no luminosity so I can't read the dial even after being in strong light, The luminosity fades quickly. I suggest that a new luminosity material be applied or use tritium. This is a mid-range priced watch. Don't skimp on the price of a quality luminosity material that lasts after exposure to light. If tritium is used the luminosity will last 24 hours a day for a half live of about 12+ years.
All good but no lume on the moon phase and no luck with atomic sync.
I love the watch. It looks fantastic and I've gotten several compliments with it. I would have given it five stars but the braclet leaves a bit to be desired. The stamped clasp feels cheap for the price and I'm not a fan of the polishing on the links. I ended up replacing this with a black sailcloth strap and it looks 10/10 amazing. If the braclet had a better clasp (milled vs stamped please!) and came with half links for easier sizing I would have given it 5 stars.
Beautiful watch. I have a very large wrist (9") and am still waiting for the extra links so that I can actually wear the watch.
Nice watch, light weight but tough. Beautifully crafted, with nice features. However the color dial does not match the advertised color. I wish it was that deep red, but instead it is really more purple.
I love the idea of this watch, it looks very nice and is very lightweight. However, the color of the moon is not nearly as vibrant or bright red as is pictured, no matter the lighting or the angle, so it will never be that color. It's more of a dark maroon than a red. I'm pretty disappointed about this, because that rich color pictured is one of the main aspects of this watch that attract me.
