I bought this watch roughly 8-9 years ago when it was a new release I believe and it is easily my favorite watch I own. I still wear this watch on a daily basis. The crystal has some minor scratching now, but Ive literally put this watch through h.e.double hockey sticks and back and it still keeps performing! Well done Citizen!!! Its awesome to see that it is still listed as a current design!
I was going through my grandpas things and I found this,I put it in the light for a hit and one of the hands are working on the bottom circle but the others arent and the crown on the right side doesnt come out, is it possible to send it to citizen for them to fix it and is it even worth it or should I get a new one?
Eco-drive tech is advertised as "You'll never need a new battery". Hearing that I would assume the the capacitor should last for at least 8-10 years. Tho after 4-5 years it started to constantly loose time, and the only way to prevent it is actually let watches absorb sunny daylight for a day or two. Unfortunately it will keep them juiced-up for another week, may be two, and than it repeats. Chronograph second hand sits off by almost a full second at it's rest position (12:01 instead of 12:00). Not a deal-breaker, but just tells something about QA/QC at your factories. Chrono start button feels flimsy. Band starting to fall apart after 3 years of wear. Again, not a big deal, as it just made me put this watch on Nato strap, which I think works much better anyway. I'd give it 7/10, but I feel like 8/10 (4/5) is too much, as there are obvious flaws with a watch. So 3 starts seems to be fair. P.S. Citizen, please do more less than 42mm watches!
The face of this watch is difficult to read, even in the best of light conditions. There little contrast at most angles. I found this watch to be unusable in any moderate to low light conditions. The "luminous" markings are basically nonexistent. The Nighthawk line of watches have good features, but even in the best light conditions, they are best difficult to use on this particular style.
I saw this watch at the airport when flying out on holiday. It immediately took my notice and looked even better on my wrist. I already owned a rose gold Citizen Eco Drive watch and this like my other was different from the norm and stood out. It has and still is a very good watch. It is stylish comfortable to wear and very well built. I now own two further Eco Drives and both this s the rose gold one are kept for those special occasions. Totally very happy with these and thoroughly recommended.
I bought this as my first Citizen watch, and starter into "entry level luxury". The aesthetics caught my eye, but Eco Drive sold me. I was in love with this watch from the start, but slowly fell out of love after enduring some issues, and finding one major design flaw which has cost me $ in repairs. Pros: Stealth look, solid feel on your wrist, and Eco Drive! Cons: For starters, as others mentioned, you can't see much without full lighting. The band also began to wear, to where I now have a "two tone" band just a few years later (the coating is not very resilient). The crystal scratches fairly easily as well. Finally, the BIG flaw....the stem of the crown sits WAY too loose into the bezel. There is WAY too much play between the two. Because of this, two to three time zone changes a year have managed to break the stem off requiring nonwarranteed repairs TWICE now. I have since went to a Navihawk A-T and this watch sits unused for fear of breaking it again.
