I have 6 citizen watches. I actually just bought another one yesterday, the mens corso. My nighthawk i bought about 2 years ago and i thought the hands just didnt light up until i realized i got a bad watch. Ill leave it under the sun for a week just so it lights up for a second. Wish it worked as presented. If you guys can do anything that would be greet! I have had one of your watches for 10 years
I purchased this sleek looking watch while on a cruise in Nassau. I had my prescription sunglasses on in the store, so I thought that was the reason the watch seemed extra dark. When we arrived back at the ship and I wore my regular glasses, the dials were still extremely difficult to read indoors. Much to my dismay, the watch was challenging to read outside as well. I can only wear the watch in complete daylight. I would only use the watch as a daytime watch. The dials are not luminous in dark conditions, so don’t purchase it if you are looking for a do it all watch. This watch is just for outside on the brightest day.
It looks cool, but is basically unusable. Cannot see anything, so we are returning. So bummed, b/c wanted an all black watch.
I had ordered this warch online through Kohls and did an in store pick up and was very excited to see it in person. When I got there I opened it first before leaving the store to check it out and was glad I did because I was super bummed. Everthing about it was awesome except for how dark it was. I loved the color of the picture and thought it would have slight hints of blue in it and the hands would have shades of silver for a sleek look but it turned out to look black on black on black which makes it very hard to read. I returned it and left with no watch. The only reason im giving it 2 stars is because of the quality. Loved the weight and size of the face but just couldnt get over color.
Not an easy to read watch when it gets dark and the hands light up only very briefly after being exposed for a significant time to sun. Should have avoided the dark on dark. Otherwise very nice.
I have the original nighthawk, before this model. The adjustment pin fell off twice in which I had to get it service, the battery since it is eco-driver I had to get it recharge by Citizen. Other than that pretty good watch, was given to me as a birthday gift.
I bought this watch 9 months ago. Watch looks as good in person as in pictures online. Watch has all of the features I need in a watch. It is a great piece to wear when dressed up or down. Nighthawk lives up to its name because it is truly dark at night. Don’t try to tell time when the lights go out. Very annoying and for that reason only gets three stars. This is an area that should never be a failure point for any watch company
Eco-drive tech is advertised as "You'll never need a new battery". Hearing that I would assume the the capacitor should last for at least 8-10 years. Tho after 4-5 years it started to constantly loose time, and the only way to prevent it is actually let watches absorb sunny daylight for a day or two. Unfortunately it will keep them juiced-up for another week, may be two, and than it repeats. Chronograph second hand sits off by almost a full second at it's rest position (12:01 instead of 12:00). Not a deal-breaker, but just tells something about QA/QC at your factories. Chrono start button feels flimsy. Band starting to fall apart after 3 years of wear. Again, not a big deal, as it just made me put this watch on Nato strap, which I think works much better anyway. I'd give it 7/10, but I feel like 8/10 (4/5) is too much, as there are obvious flaws with a watch. So 3 starts seems to be fair. P.S. Citizen, please do more less than 42mm watches!
