I bought this watch two weeks ago and love the quality and look with every day cloths as well as dress clothes.
The blue color on my "new" watch is actually purple like it was faded in the sun. Doesn't look at all like the picture. Appears to be the usual good Citizen quality I have enjoyed, but I'd like to return it.
The watch looks fine and keeps good time. But I imagined the sub-dial next to the digit 9 would be a stop watch continuation for those rare timing events that take more than an hour. It turns out the extra mechanism and clutter on the dial is to help a buyer figure out whether he's in the AM or PM part of the day. This must be seen as needed by those dunces who don't know how to drop the 31st of the month for those months that don't have 31 days. Also the date window is microscopic. So they give you a legible sub-dial that only an idiot would need and shrink the date window that everybody would use 2 or 3 times a week if only they could read it. But now they can't.
Bought this a few years ago and still wear it regularly!
I just received this watch and must say I am very impressed with it. However, the watch would greatly benefit from a magnifier over the day indicator (maybe my eyes are just getting old) as I find the date difficult to see. Also the buckle on the leather strap could be a bit more rounded where the buckle meets the wrist as I find that the buckle digs into my wrist and is a bit uncomfortable.
Nice fit, good quality. Love the Eco-Drive. Definitely not the blue shown online. Take a look at some real pictures of it for an idea. Wouldn't keep me from buying it, but would've preferred it to be more accurate online.
Nice simple face, chronograph, Eco-Drive. What's not to like? Only one thing: i would prefer the outer edge of the dial to be the same shade of blue as the main part of the dial, rather than black.
Nice large solid watch with a good presence. I would change a couple things though. First I would have the 24 hour hand snap to the next hour since the current period between hours is already displayed using the hour and minute hands and secondly I would raise the date dial (if possible) closer to the face for easier reading.
An excellent option for everyday use as the watch is so light that you forget you are using it. Highly recommed it!
