Amazing watch, with trade-offs

I love the watch, but it may not be for everyone. One of the things I love is the hour and minute hand, and the ability to see the dials below them. However, as with many things, this has its trade-offs. It can make them hard to see in a quick glance. As I wear the watch, I'm becoming more accustomed to it, so it isn't an issue, but it actually CAN make them hard to see quickly against the busy background. However, I knew this would be an issue, and love the watch anyway. It is most definitely one of my favorites and serves a very specific purpose, which is its ability to work with timezones (I'd actually been looking for a GMT Automatic when I ran across this, and really loved the overall design). One thing about watches, some things are trade-offs. If it weren't for the hollow hour and minute hand, I'd be complaining that you couldn't see the dials under them at various times :-). But. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this watch, as long as you were are aware that it might take a few weeks to re-train your mind to quickly see the hands (it has gotten easier over days, and I won't even notice in a month -- but, something to be aware of).

Not good for flying

As an actual pilot, this watch does not work in the cockpit. As a pilot, you should be able to look at any instrument (airspeed, altimeter, etc) for one second and know the reading. This watch takes at least five seconds, if not more at a distance, to tell the time and that is during the day. In low light, forget it. The "skeleton" hands make it impossible. It is sad, this would have ben a great aviation watch, not to ever have to worry about ensuring the time is accurate and the battery is charged. Not being able to quickly read the hands made me return the watch, not only for practicality reasons, but safety reasons. The lume is great for nighttime... however that is the only time you can quickly read the time.
