Sophisticated offer

Watch is artistically coherent. It is an abstration of a moon crater: flat bevel turning at an angle with marks oriented down sloping towards dial, carbon-black color of space, the dial itself with pattern resembling meteorite or moon surface, subdials as various smaller impact sites in a crater. Dial scheme is designed to matches the pattern on bracelet middle-links, links made from reconstituted titanium. I have Omegas including moonwatch, Rolex, A Lange. They are considered my jewelry watches. But this line of watch embodies a different philosophy. It is less symbol of intentional antiquated design or statement of leisure, but more a modern interpretation of time in a sophisticated, ever punctual, and increasingly connected cosmopolitan world. Always in sync with official time, anywhere, its embodies essense of what time means to any businessman in a culture where train punctuality is measured in seconds. It provides a sense of stability and respite: here this ticking on my wrist, it is constant, as a constant of the universe, it oes not varies by seconds from day to day --it is accurate, for all time, and anchors and quantifies time concretely in an increasingly confusing world. In terms of value, it strikes all the essential facets. In addition to being made of Super titanium which already is light but tough, the Hakuto-R is coated specifically with DLC version of Duratect, almost 1500 on Vick scale of hardness. World time. Dual time. Date. Day. UTC. Perpeptual Calendar. Chronometer mode. Plus a quantitatively extremely accurate light level indicator that, on testing, correctly compares intensity of different sun lamps across distances. Our cell phone listens to cell tower on the ground, and cell tower listens to satellite. This watch bypasses towers and itself *directly* listens to satellite, even on a air plane, as long its dial can face unobstructed sky. And since it is Eco Drive, all it fits behind a dial that uses sunlight to charge. There is an impressive amount of tech and modern human inguinity dedicated to the art of Time, its passage, measurement, display.

A modern day moomwatch?

Light weight, scratch resistant. The related Hakuto-R Mission 2 rover landing on the moon is sometime in 2025. The watch is light weight and grows on you. I enjoy a mechanical watch. But an omega meteorite has rose gold hue on tachymeter bevel. This on the other hand, dial almost resemble aesthetic of meteorite. Its got the technology, sattelite tracker anywhere on the globe, impeccable light level indicator, light, scratch resistant, and a more 21st century bevel with world time instead of a tachymeter. The second hand, anytime I look at it, tracks complete with second hand of universal time. As I fidget with various watch functionz, watching second hand pivots to indicates an output [light level, current time zone etc] then rotate back not to its prior location but to the calculated second hand position so that it continues matching universal time down to the second, is a marvel. I think many of us forget that, when Breitling made the navitimer and added a sliding bezel, or when Rolex created first original waterproof case (Oyster), watchmakers were at forefront of technology --not tradition. CITIZEN carries on this spirit. This will be the watch on wrist as a travel. It is cosmopolitan, understated, beautiful work. A modern day art that crystallizes some of the best of CITIZEN. It belongs in your collection.

This is a gorgeous watch! Absolutely stunning looks and amazing tech. I love the black titanium and the carbon fiber. I would love it more if the carbon fiber popped like it does in the pics, but it is a bit more subtle in real life, especially the dial. I posted a pic with my carbon fiber knife so you can see the difference. I have 7.5 inch wrists, and I would say that is a minimum size. If you have smaller wrists than that this thing will look huge on you. It is pretty fat. It was very cool how the watch set itself as soon as I opened the box! It is always spot on as adjust itself quickly as long as it can see the sky. I have yet to travel and see how it adapts to time zones, I will update if it fails. However, the main reason I can't give it 5 stars because I have no idea how to really use the thing. There is a generic manual available for the caliber, which I had to go search for, but it is hard to follow as it is just text instructions with a simple line drawing diagram. I was really surprised they don't have videos for the Attesa line to show off all the cool features. For over $2k I expected a bit more tech support. How do I set world time? Why would I switch from RX-TIME to RX-GPS mode? How do I set the alarm (this is not even mentioned in the instructions). What the heck is LLI mode? So many questions for my new toy! Kinda driving me crazy. I thought the app would have all sorts of things to help set and explore, but it is just for registration. Finally, after sizing the band (I have pro watch tools and usually prefer to do it myself) the pins are a bit loose and sometimes work themselves out a little. I will need to add a smidge nail polish to the ends to lock it back into place, most of my watches are sub $500 and none of them have had that issue. The micro adjustments on the band are pretty slick though, well done on that. Overall this is a great watch, beautiful build, very cool tech, but not quite the luxury experiencing I was expecting for the price.

Harkuto-R

I have two other Citizen watches and this one is a nice addition. Looks elegant even as a dress watch. I only wish it had eliminated hands and dial especially at this price point.

Nice looking timepiece

Almost feel like I should be using soft white gloves to handle this watch. Third Citizen I've had, and this one is almost too nice.

Very nice, with one caveat.

Needs more lume on the hands, otherwise very nice.

I expected a lot more for the price

The watch is beautiful. With that said, I wanted a watch that would automatically update to the time zone I happened to be in. The watch was shipped from California to Maryland. After two days in Maryland, it stayed on west coast time. I had to manually change the time zone to the time zone to the east coast. Not happy about that at all. Am curious to now see if it will automatically update for daylight savings time.
