I am enjoying this watch. It is very large on the wrist, which I like. I can see the display nicely. I just enjoy wearing it.
Nice analog and digital display. Rugged rubber strap. Saphire Cristal glass. An absolutely great every day sports watch. I own both the black and the olive green and I warmly reccomend.
*What I like*: Easy strap changes unlike a Casio G-Shock. Lovely appearance. Sapphire crystal. World time. Perpetual calendar. Eco Drive tech. *What I wish this watch had*: Atomic time. And watch hands that move at the press of a button. The hands do move when you're using the chronograph. Adding an altimeter, barometer, and compass would make this model literally perfect. Service was fast. Got it from Citizen in five days. I like the cute Pelican-style case the watch came in.
I travel the world hunting and fishing. For years I used a Casio G-Shock for this task. It came time to change and I switched to the U822. The U822 has all the “tough” features that anyone needs. But where it exceeds the competition is in legibility, travel features, styling, and the ability to easily change straps. I’ve used it on two trips now and I am happy I made the switch. I’d purchase this watch again and recommend it to anyone who needs the features this watch offers.
Lightweight, multifunctional, precise timing. One of the best purchases I’ve made. I really solid timepiece for a night on the town. And reasonably priced as well.
A very legible watch. And, like all Citizens with Eco-Drive, never needs a battery. I got it mainly for having the large, easy-to-read, digital display for displaying UTC that I use quite a bit. It’s a very large watch, however, and a bit heavy. The only negative, like some of my Citizen watches, the second hand does not quite line up on the hash marks.
This watch completed my Citizen Watch collection. I looked at the different watches and picked out my favorites and purchased all of them. I like watches that let you know the date and the day, moon phases, and are fit for every style. I like the Promaster Line up it is very unique and a great watch to wear.
The Citizen Promaster Land U822 is an outstanding watch that perfectly balances rugged outdoor capability with a modern, stylish design. The analog-digital dial looks sharp and technical, with excellent legibility thanks to bold markers and luminous hands that stand out clearly in any lighting. It has a strong wrist presence without feeling overly bulky, and the materials feel durable and premium.
Very handsome and rugged built watch, really like the fact that it will not require replacing batteries with the solar charging capability
I consider the solar powered U822 Promaster to be an excellent purchase. The watch is obviously built for outdoor use - heavy, a wide rubber strap, very luminescent, and a chronograph among other features. However, be aware of several things. Setting the the digital time/date requires the use of the downloadable manual. Also, there is no atomic time or GPS-driven feature. Citizen, thank you for recogniziing the service of veterans with your military discount.
