More Than I Expected

I got my order 2 day air and I was pleasantly surprised. It was all that the hype was for it. I’m happy with my new watch.

Amazing watch.

This thing is amazing. Only thing I can say bad about it is trying to remove the links is a nightmare. But I wouldn't use that as a negative side of it. They offer band adjustments free when you purchase it.

Love this watch.

It is everything I want in a watch. I hate the fact they dropped the price the day after I ordered it. Could have given me the new price

Pilot

As a pilot I love this watch. Only had it for a week so will see how it goes. Going to order another one except with the black face and band.

Maybe 3.8 Stars

Have always loved the ani-digi concept. This watch is handsome, clean looking, and has some great function. Will keep, but it could be better. Unfortunately, Citizen crammed too many details on too little real estate. Should have a touch bigger face. Think that probably 25-50% of the target audience for aviation watches might have waning near sight vision. Extremely hard to read the inner dials. The bezel is novel, but impractical without my readers and I have 20/10 far vision, just up close is too small. The nigh light only covers the digi, but it's not that great of a night light - it doesn't have even lighting across the digi window. The glow on the hands just doesn't last that long - I keep having to recharge it with a flashlight. The watch manual is pretty bad. The buttons look like stop watch buttons, which, while easy to use, look a bit low class. Would love to see those things improved, and would LOVE to see a Titanium version.

Good watch but overpriced

No Automic timekeeping, no super titanium and yet costlier than the ones which have those features.

Best series

I've been using the Skyhawk series for 24 years... this one is awesome, but I miss the Titanium version, and it absolutely has to be radio-controlled... then I'd even pay $3,000 for this watch... Greetings to all Skyhawk fans and all Citizen fans :) PS and below this is my favorite watch, 13 years old and still works perfectly.

changing time is challenging

The watch came quickly from Citizen pre-sized, but not accurately to my 6 3/4 wrist. I needed to add back a link, which is challenging because of the little sleeve (easy to lose) that goes over the bracelet pin as it is inserted. The manual for the U830 movement is not yet available 3 weeks after product release (not smart, Japan), so after getting lost and messed up by trial and error on time change (from pacific to central) as well as not figuring out chronograph operation, I needed to apply an all-reset (which uses all three push buttons and the LED interface). So I located the U822 movement manual, which is close enough to U830 to get back on time. I still don't know how to accurately change the UTC time after all reset. After watching a couple videos about the Breitling watch slide rule, I got into the basic uses (mutiply, dividing, speed, conversions) for the rotating slide-rule bezel on the Promaster. The numbers on the bezel are so small even for bifocals that I needed to wear a head magnifier to make use of the slide rule--a novelty. A final note, the watch case (not including pushers) is actually 42mm, not 43mm as indicated on the Citizen web site, so the size fits better than expected on my thin wrist. I'd give 5 stars if the interface manual were available (including QR code on watch) and indeed easier to understand.

Tiny Dials (Promaster Skyhawk U830)

I've admired this watch for a long time. The complications on the Promaster line are really impressive and frankly very cool. However I'm an older man and my eyes aren't what they used to be and the smallest dials on my new watch are impossible to see without a great deal of effort on my part. I place all of the blame for my disappointment in buying this watch on the advertising methods to create cool looking website catalog photos and unfortunately Citizen. Don't get me wrong, I've loved every Citizen watch I have owned and currently own and I've given them as gifts to family. This one though, really disappoints..
