First, the watch was exactly what I was looking for. Size and look were perfect. Hybrid with long battery life (I have been testing it at the house for a week and still over 75%). I really like the looks, and the available options. However, at the very beginning (as others had noted) the watch failed multiple times (was never able to connect via the app, had to connect via BT on phone and then finally not syncing at all) to connect, to stay connected and finally not connecting at all. Tried everything, from reinstalling the app, turning on BT and off again, shutting down Iphone, and all other options available, and now nothing. I am disappointed in the product, though Citizen has always been a quality product, this falls short. Sending it back.
I've owned several Citizen Eco-Drive watches and have always found them to be of excellent quality with high durability. My experience with Smartwatches has been less than satisfactory as most smart watches require over night charging every day. While the features are cool, charging every night is an absolute deal breaker. After careful consideration, I purchased a Citizen Hybrid Smartwatch and I couldn't be happier with it. The battery life is exceptional, lasting well over 10 to 15 days and the functionality is perfect for my needs. The hybrid technology is a real winner for me as the watch hands don't go away when the screen shuts off like all other smart watches. I can always quickly and easily see what time it is, no need to touch the display or shake the watch or anything else the requires the use of my other hand. The application on my Android phone works very well and provides a nice interface for viewing health related statistics gathered by my watch. If you're looking for a smartwatch without the hassles, the Citizen Hybrid smartwatch is the way to go. Oh, when I do charge the watch, I do some about once a week while I'm sitting in the evening watching TV or reading a book. The watch chargers quickly with the supplied charger. I don't think I've ever run the watch down below 75% of charge.
I'd love to give this watch a 5, but at the moment, I'm teetering on a 3. So I give it a 4 in hopes that as I used the watch, it will have more real functionality. Main reason is operational documentation. I would like to see a concise, step by step explanation of the watch, it's functions and how to accomplish them. Example: This watch does not have phone capability. It can only tell you somebody is calling you then you have to go yor phone. I sort of figured this but never saw mention of it in the documentation. Then when I do try to "go intuitive" like starting and stopping a workout, I find, ok....got it started, now how do I stop it. I guess it's You Tube time again. Of course, that may well be what instructional manuals are all about today.....go to You Tube and see what users say.
If you're looking for a high quality smartwatch, this is the one. Citizen never fails to impress me. I've got several Eco Drive watches and thought I would also try their smartwatch. The functionality is exactly what I wanted and the battery life is incredible. Not a full color display, but this is how Citizen has created a watch with outstanding battery life. The hybrid concept is brilliant. Standard watch hands with electronic paper for the display. The watch case is high quality and the silicon rubber wrist strap is heavy duty and also very high quality. Integration with the app on iOS or Android is very good and I found the app to work very well with just the right amount of wellness information including, steps, calories, heart rate and oxygen level. There's also a high intensity workout mode monitor, but at 65 the only high intensity workout I'm getting these days is mowing the lawn. This is a great watch, and at the current price it's a bargain. Highly recommended.
I like this hybrid, long lasting battery is a plus. The negatives are the unstable Bluetooth connection and it’s limited water resistance.
Love the look and feel of the watch. The watch band is stiff and clunky, and the controls and app are not straightforward.
This is the second CZ Smart Hybrid I am very please with this one also. The only issue I have with it that every once in a while the watch will disconnect from the phone but when I restart my phone the watch seem to connect again. I kind of think that is a over kill that I would have to restart my phone to get the watch to reconnect to my phone. But I still like the fact that the battery last for days now I don't have to worry to much about charging the watch every day. Setting up the watch was easy and fast. I currently have two of the hybrid watches connect to the app. I also like that it transfers my health from one watch to the other watch.
I bought this watch in July 2024. I was never able to get it connected to some of the apps, and it constantly disconnected from my phone. Still, it was a great watch, and I enjoyed the features. It suddenly refuses to charge. I bought a replacement charger, which I had to find locally since it is always out of stock on your site. The watch doesn't show that it is connected to the charger at all, no matter which charger I'm using. I've never had this problem with other Citizen watches.
I have owned several smart watches. I have been partial to Fitbit for years, but after experiencing multiple overheating issues and developing a preference for style, I decided it was time to replace my Fitbit with a CZ Smart Hybrid. I LOVE the look of it, the tracking and smart features are on par with the Fitbit, and I actually prefer the fact that it doesn't have a touch screen. I have an extensive watch collection (including three more Citizens), and I only wear the CZ to bed and for exercise for the most part, but I'm extremely happy with it.
I have always been a fan of Citizen watches. I have four of them and purchased the Hybrid Smartwatch as an option to my Apple Watch. Fantastic battery life and great classic looks. Overall happy with my purchase with some issues. First, no Apple/Google pay. You'll have to pull your phone out for that. Next, I have an issue where the dials disappear. Theres a setting to show/not show the dials and although I dont change it, it sets itself to hide dials every so often. Another issue is if you have complications to show weather or a different time zone, they are not constant. You have to flick your wrist for it to update the time (it does show time difference and city constant so I dont know why it can't show the actual time) or, have to have the app running on your phone for the weather to update. Aside from the issues, I like the watch and swap between it and an Apple watch depending on what I'm doing. You'll have to decide for yourself depending on your use case. Definitely not as integrated as the Apple watch, so you're paying for looks at a lower price point.
