I'm surprised by the mixed reviews. My experience has been great so far. Set up was straightforward, I was able to connect to my phone after the second try. The watch does what I need it to do, I can view my text notifications quickly without picking up my phone, I can track my steps and overall activity, and download music for my morning run so I can leave my phone behind. The water resistance thing didn't make sense to me so I took a chance and showered with the watch on and it has been totally fine. I probably wouldn't take it snorkeling or diving though. I downloaded the YouQ app but personally it's more "stuff" than I need and I'm enjoying the CZ Smart without it. The battery life could be better. I do mini charges while I'm working at my desk and when I shower, similar to what I did with my apple watch, and that helps keep it charged overnight. I like the Citizen dial faces but wish there were more options. But overall a solid smartwatch for a reasonable price.
I wanted to give this a 5 star as I have several Citizen watches that I love. However, the one thing holding this watch back from 5 stars is the cheaper band used for this watch compared to the more premium bands I have on my other Citizen watches. One thing I love about my Citizen watches is the weight the band adds. And this band feels like a cheap 20$ band off amazon.
Citizen Response
The watch battery does not last very long. Would not connect or reconnect to an IPhone 15 several times without reseting the watch.
The look and feel of the watch are good. Very light weight. I bearly feel that I have it on which is good if you wear it 10 plus hours a day. However, the technical features could be vastly improved. Several immediate updates took it up to wear OS 3.5 which is nice but how long until 4.0 comes along. The stock exercise app counted my steps fairly accurate but never synced with Google Fit even though I downloaded and was running the Citizen Connected app. Plus other little sync annoyances that keep this watch from being a 5 star general.
