One of the Finest Solar Chronos Ever Produced
I wanted a solar chrono for outdoor activities and did significant research on Seikos and Citizens. This specific model was ultimately an easy choice and a better, more conservative option for my needs than the alternative (and still very popular) camo version. It has the build and quality of a $1,000+ watch and absolutely blows away every USA and JDM Seiko solar I considered.
Great watch, some drawbacks but that's ok.
This watch is great. It fits well on the wrist, the luminescence glow is not that bright but is still readable in most situations and the date window can be hard to see at night but otherwise this watch looks and feels tough. I feel like I don't have to be too carful wearing this and won't have to worry about every little bump.
Best watch for the money
Great choice all my citizens watches are a great value and work fantastic
Promaster Tough
I purchased my Promaster Tough about a month ago. It’s my first chronometer and solar powered watch, and my first Citizen.I’ve wanted to add a chronometer and a solar powered watch to my collection and this particular watch perfectly fit the bill. I own 7 other watches, all of them are automatic/mechanical, so this is my first quartz watch. It’s a very well built and the finish is excellent. The time keeping is spot on and the complications have worked flawlessly so far. It looks good on my average size wrist and does not feel bulky. I’ve always been impressed by Citizen’s reputation for producing first rate time pieces at very attractive price points, and this watch does not disappoint. The only gripe I have is with the date window. I find the date nearly impossible to read unless the watch is in just the right position and light. I think this is due to the date being set too deeply in the face. Citizen should either set the window better or eliminate the function completely. The date window explains why I didn’t give the watch 5 stars; however, the rest of the watch is 5 stars.
