The patterning on the black dial is composed of elements from Darth Vader’s helmet and chest plate with red and blue accents, plus luminous hands, outer minute track, and Imperial symbol. The case back is engraved with “It’s useless to resist. Come to the dark side,” the Dark Sith Lord’s likeness, and a unique edition number—limited to 1,977 units, the year the first Star Wars movie was released. And there’s light in all this darkness: the watch is sustainably powered by any light with Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology and never needs a battery.

Father’s Day present for my Star Wars loving husband. He loves it! Loves all the little details that are to be found all over the watch. Especially pleased that it is limited and he has a number out of 1977.
I've been waiting!
I've been waiting for this watch for a while, after I had heard a rumor that it was coming. I had heard it was going to be released for Star Wars Day (May 4th), but it wasn't. Imagine my surprise when I got the notification and then learned my husband had already ordered it for me for my upcoming birthday. Out of the 3 Darth Vader Citizen watched, this one is by far my favorite. I love red light sabre second hand, the details of his armor in the face and the blue and red accents around the dial that mimic the lights on his chest plate. all around a gorgeous watch in the black polished and brushed stainless steel!
Just got mine.
I love the watch!! A beautiful time piece, size and weight feels and looks good (wish the crown had some protection) But 2 oddities 1st)pictures on the website show the date with a white background and black numbers. Mine arrived with black date background and white numbers. Dates are a little hard to see 2) the case back is sideways instead of aligned straight I would have thought the back would be straight for the retail of the watch This is my 3rd Citizen.
