Reviews
I started wearing a watch again about 10 years ago and became fascinated with all the different types and movements. My collection runs the gamut of dress, field, and dive watches with quartz, solar, and automatic movements. Citizen is in my collection including 2 dive watches, the BN0151-09L and the ORCA, BN023-01L. Both are outstanding and I have worn the smaller BN0151 quite often the last 5 years. I love the distinctive ORCA but it just does not fit my small wrist well and for me looks and feels too large. I also did not like that the band cannot be changed. Over time I have gravitated to dive watches and have several brands. But every single watch seemed to lack that certain something. Then I stumbled on this watch. Viewing it online I initially thought it too would be too large and wondered if it would be more weird than distinctive. But I kept coming back and viewing it until I could not resist. Once it arrived, I opened the black case and was instantly struck. We all have different tastes and for me, this watch blew me away. The matte gray titanium case/bezel, deep green camo face, supple green dive band, all stunningly appealing to my eye. On the wrist it just popped. The titanium obviously lightweight, the size large but not gaudy, the band thick but flexible, and the buckle large but the matte gray titanium hides some of its bulk (again, I have a small wrist). Bezel clicks and is solid. The face is somewhat smallish but absolutely not a problem given the white hands are quite visible against the green camo face. Lume is typical for Citizen, outstanding. In summary, its big, beautiful, nothing shiny, aggressive, tough, uniquely shaped, solar, accurate--just what I was looking for.
Dammit!!!
I just got this watch today. And already impressed. While I had to set to cst. It was set to eastern time. But the time was right on it. I live the styling and look of the watch ! And it feels great on my wrist. Now I just have to wait for the blue one to be put on sale. Note: This was cheaper on sale on Amazon. But they mark the price up ( $595 on Amazon compared to $416.50 on here) but was cheaper on sale there so... I'll just have to wait and watch (lol) to see if/when they put it on sale. Because I would really like to get the blue one as well !!!
Better than expected
It feels more expensive than it looks. I have several Citizen Promaster watches: NY0040, BN0150, BN0000 (which looks amazing and I wish it’d be still available). I bought the green dial one because I found it on sale at a Citizen authorized dealer. My favorite is the full lume, but i find it too pricey. I prefer the dark case to the medium grey of the black dial model. Anyway this watch wears great on my 7in / 17.7cm wrist. It feels so light and it is legible. The green dial is darker than in the photos and looks less saturated, which I prefer. I do not like the forest green band color. So I put it on a black single pass nylon strap. The black strap makes it look more discreet and tactical. It improves the look. The dial is smaller than the BN0150 promaster series, and a little less legible. If it had a sapphire crystal and the minute hand has an orange outline, I would have given 5 stars. Anyway, I put on a tempered glass screen protector (I believe 29mm diameter) which solves the mineral glass issue. Many promaster watches have the orange minute hand which improves legibility in dim light or in the water. I will use this when spearfishing. The case seems scratch proof. Many say that certain watches look more expensive than they are. This instead may look less precious than it feels. The super titanium case may look like polycarbonate, but the feel is very nice, like some rock. Anyway great watch, I am planning to keep. If the full lume comes down in price, I may get it as well, as it has an orange minute hand,is definitely more legible.
Nice and light divers watch.
Very light and comfortable looks great and rugged.
