Dubbed the Promaster Land, the new timepiece is fully equipped and ready for action, featuring a built-tough 43.9mm diameter in grey and silver-tone stainless steel, with a sporty rubber strap securing the watch to the wrist. On the dial, luminous hands and markers stand out against a black background for high legibility, while a rotating compass scale surrounds the look, and the digital-analog display ensures complete focus on the mission. The watch’s advanced capabilities include a world time display, chronograph, alarm, light level indicator, perpetual calendar, power save mode, charge level display, and summertime mode. Absolutely love this watch. Its weight feels great. Looks great on the wrist. The lume is extremely bright. Set up is easy. Was fully charged and time was set when it arrived. Only thing that could be better is the light function and the facts the chronograph doesn’t show the time while it counts. I think it’s fine for the most part but I know some will hate it and say they can’t see the display in darkness. To me it’s fine, but Indiglos have better back light. In any case this watch is my new go to every day timepiece. I love automatics but hated winding them and setting every day. This is easy to use, beautiful and has all the functions I need.
I gifted myself this watch a few days ago and has kept all my other watches in a drawer since. It completely exceeded all my expectations and practically does everything that I need, not to mention it is very comfortable and not too thick. Every function is a must on someone who works in the oil field like myself. One of my favorite things about it is the different calendar displays to choose from, also love the strong lume it provides! Only two suggestions, one, I wish it had a positive display option as the Home Screen; I believe it is easier to read. Two, I wish it showed the chronograph numbers as opposed to showing “running”, when it’s on. I told my wife this will be my everyday watch for the next ten years, or longer! Thank you Citizen for making a watch that I bond with and suits my personality well. I cannot thank you enough!
Perfect timepiece to dress up or down!
The Citizen Promaster Land U822 is an outstanding watch that perfectly balances rugged outdoor capability with a modern, stylish design. The analog-digital dial looks sharp and technical, with excellent legibility thanks to bold markers and luminous hands that stand out clearly in any lighting. It has a strong wrist presence without feeling overly bulky, and the materials feel durable and premium.

Great Everyday/Outdoor Watch
I consider the solar powered U822 Promaster to be an excellent purchase. The watch is obviously built for outdoor use - heavy, a wide rubber strap, very luminescent, and a chronograph among other features. However, be aware of several things. Setting the the digital time/date requires the use of the downloadable manual. Also, there is no atomic time or GPS-driven feature. Citizen, thank you for recogniziing the service of veterans with your military discount.
